We regret to inform you that we have been unsuccessful in our application to the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ 2022 Artist-in-Residence Program for the Promotion of International Cultural Exchange through Support for Artists-in-Residence Activities.
However, we will continue to accept applications for the Visiting Artist Program (paid) as usual.

About A.A.I.R.P. 2021:
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be offering Awagami’s Artist-in-Residency this year and perhaps 2022 as well.
However, we are still accepting applications for Awagami’s ‘Visiting Artist Program’ (whereby the artist pays workshop fees). Thank you for your kind understanding and interest.

While we are physically unable to host any international “A.A.I.R” resident artists at Awagami this year due to covid travel restrictions.
3 Japanese artists have been chosen for full residencies at the mill:
1.) Ms. Yougetsu Harada, Japan
2.) Ms. Kaoruko, Japan
3.) Mr. Yasu Suzuka, Japan
Furthermore, we created a shortened “remote” program for 2 photographers to participate on a much smaller scale from their home countries:
1.) Mr. Sebastien Siraudeau, France
2.) Mr. Qian Jin, China
*All 2020 applications we will kept at Awagami to be considered for next year’s 2021 Autumn “A.A.I.R” program. Thank you.
